New things in Expression Blend 3


While working with Expression Blend3 I noticed some new features compared to Expression Blend2. Here I am listing few of them. Rest, new features I will list as soon as I came across-

1.) While starting Expression Blend 3, it itself shows you the new feature “SKETCH FLOW” in the main welcome screen.

When you create New Project it list the – option for Silverlight 3 Skectflow Application.

SkecthflowThis Sketchflow is the new feature given by Silverlight 3 .  It is made basically to target on  giving the rough sketch of the design and flow of the application to the client, to which he/she can give his/her feedback then and there only. (More on this in my forthcoming Post on Skectchflow. Foe now you can refer – )

2.)    New Assets and all of them are now placed in a Panel. Even-though “old” way is still available. This new Panel can be open and docked to any area- as it is now made like adockable window menu like – property window. Adding to this – all the assets are grouped in different categories, which  made it easier to see.

3.) Out of Browser Capabilility.

4.)  Gradient Settings – Gradient settings can now be edited from properties panel. Expand the arrow at the bottom to view the advanced properties when editing teh gradient. Like – StartPoint, EndPoint and Transformations has become easily.

5.) Intellisense – One does not have to leave Blend and go to visual studio for coding the event handling and extra results plus, even if one has to code something in Xaml,  full intellisense is given along with the Blend.
